The actress we’re talking about spoke how she unintentionally turned down the part in Shah Rukh Khan’s Chalte Chalte.
No doubt people heaped praises on Shah Rukh Khan and Rani Mukerji’s chemistry in Chalte Chalte. However, did you know that another female actor was offered the role before Rani and she ‘unknowingly’ turned it down? The actor we’re talking about made her comeback with Anil Sharma’s ‘Bridge 2‘ alongside Sunny Deol. The film went on to break several box office records.
In a recent interview with BeautybyBiE, Ameesha Patel discussed the highs and lows of her professional life. She claimed that she had never in her life regretted a choice. But there will always be ‘what if.’ The ‘Gadar 2’ actor revealed that she missed out on some of the movies for unspecified reasons, while she was unable to make it to others because of dates being unavailable or because she couldn’t envision herself playing the role. She acknowledged that while some of her movies were a big hit, others didn’t. She went on to discuss Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Chalte Chalte‘, saying she had no idea she had been given the role.
“When the film was about to release and Shah Rukh was dubbing for it, he took me into the dubbing studio and showed me a few edits. He said, ‘Come, Let me show you a few edits of some footage of a film that you declined.’ I replied, ‘Shah Rukh, what have I declined?’ and he said, ‘This film,’ ” Ameesha Patel recalled.
