He is an iconic figure in South Indian cinema, with an impressive net worth of Rs 1,650 crore, as reported by sources like Times of India and News18. At 69 years old, he has been honoured with both the Padma Bhushan and Padma Vibhushan awards for his contributions to the arts. His remarkable filmography features a string of blockbuster hits, including Khaidi, Gharana Mogudu, Gang Leader, Indra, Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy, and Waltair Veerayya, among many others. He is none other than renowned Telugu actor, Chiranjeevi’s influence and legacy in the film industry continue to inspire fans and aspiring actors alike.

Waltair Veerayya highlighted Chiranjeevi’s enduring star power, with the actor reportedly earning Rs 50 crore for his leading role in the action-thriller. According to the Economic Times, Chiranjeevi made history as the first actor in India to receive Rs 1 crore for a film, as noted by Hindustan Times. He earned Rs1.25 crore for his performance in Aapadbandhavudu (1992), making him the highest-paid actor in the industry at that time.

This significant increase in his fees was largely due to the remarkable success of Gharana Mogudu, which was the first Telugu film to cross the Rs 10 crore mark at the box office. During this period, several national magazines even referred to Chiranjeevi as “Bigger than Bachchan,” highlighting the fact that Amitabh Bachchan was charging less than Rs 90 lakh per film.

These actors joined Rs 1 crore club after Chiranjeevi, they are…

Tamil superstar Kamal Haasan entered the Rs 1 crore club in 1994 when he began charging that amount for his films. Rajinikanth quickly followed suit. When Amitabh Bachchan made his comeback to acting in 1995 after a break, he too started earning more than Rs 1 crore per movie.

Chiranjeevi is one of the many renowned South Indian actors living in Jubilee Hills, a wealthy neighbourhood in Hyderabad. He resides in an opulent 25,000-square-foot mansion with his wife, Surekha Konidala, their son Ram Charan, daughter-in-law Upasana Kamineni, and granddaughter Klin Kaara Konidela.
