Meet the characters and voice cast of ‘Hoppers’, releasing in cinemas on March 6

What if humans could talk to animals and understand them? In Disney and Pixar’s upcoming film Hoppers, scientists discover a way to transfer human consciousness into lifelike robotic animals. This allows people to communicate with animals as animals. The film will release in cinemas on March 6 in Hindi and English. Here’s a look at the main characters and the actors voicing them:

MABEL TANAKA (Piper Curda)

Mabel is a passionate animal lover who deeply cares about protecting animals and nature. She has a close bond with her Grandma Tanaka and finds peace in the natural environment around her. However, when the glade she grew up caring for is threatened, she decides to take action. Although she strongly believes in protecting animals, bringing them back to the glade turns out to be more difficult than expected. Determined and brave, Mabel uses every possible way—including her skateboard—to try and stop Mayor Jerry from destroying animal homes.

MABEL BEAVER (Piper Curda)

Mabel Beaver has the same love for animals, but this time she becomes one herself. She realizes that her consciousness has been transferred into a small, furry robotic beaver after seeing her reflection in a pond. Disguised as an animal, she enters the animal world to understand their lives and help solve the problems affecting the glade. As she adjusts to her new reality, Mabel learns how things work by gaining the trust of the animal leader, King Georg.

KING GEORGE (Bobby Moynihan)

King George is a larger-than-life beaver with a cheerful personality. He leads the pond and is seen as the king of the mammals. He never planned to become king, but he happily accepts the responsibility and made a set of Pond Rules to help everyone live peacefully together. George is kind, positive, and loves bringing everyone together. He enjoys leading group exercises, learning everyone’s names, working as a team, and, of course, wood. He has always been single and is fully devoted to his job. The anxiety and imposter syndrome have affected his hairline, but he wouldn’t choose any other life. Whenever problems happen in the pond, George simply reminds everyone of his Pond Rules and says, “We’re all in this together!”

MAYOR JERRY GENERAZZO (Jon Hamm)

Mayor Jerry Generazzo is running for re-election in Beaverton and thinks very highly of himself. He’s self-obsessed and doesn’t worry much about the moral side of his job. He is held back by rules, paperwork, and what voters think of him but that won’t stop him from trying to build a highway through the glade, even if it forces animals out of their homes. Behind his shiny, perfectly styled hair and polished public image, Jerry is starting to lose his composure over the one thing he can’t control: Mabel.

DR. SAM (Kathy Najimy)

Mabel’s biology professor at Beaverton University, Dr. Sam, is full of nervous energy and is also a brilliant scientist who leads a top-secret project called Hoppers. She runs her lab using unusual but powerful technology and handles her work with great precision. However, when things go wrong, she gets flustered easily. Dr. Sam is determined to use her invention only for good. She knows that if it ends up in the wrong hands, it could cause serious ecological damage. Because of this huge responsibility, she often feels very anxious.

TITUS (Dave Franco)

The demanding and spoiled spawn of the Insect Queen, Titus craves power and has a strong hunger to squash others, so it’s safer to stay out of his way. As he grows, he becomes even more entitled and powerful, eventually turning into the Insect King.

LOAF (Eduardo Franco)

Loaf isn’t the smartest beaver in the pond or the sharpest stick in the dam. He’s slow but very loyal and takes the Pond Rules seriously, even when it causes him trouble. Still, Loaf is simply doing his best to keep up and protect what matters.

NISHA (Aparna Nancherla)

Nisha is Dr. Sam’s smart and loyal colleague. She is second-in-command at the secret lab and takes her role seriously. She may be quiet most of the time, but when she speaks, she is extremely honest and direct. Her calm, serious tone can make her words feel blunt and uncomfortable.

TOM LIZARD (Tom Law)

Tom Lizard prefers to stay away from drama and keep things peaceful, but his strong curiosity often pulls him right into trouble. He may be a small green reptile, but he has some big animal friends who always support and protect him.

CONNER (Sam Richardson)

Conner is a biology graduate student working in Dr. Sam’s top-secret lab. He’s cheerful, friendly, and a bit awkward. He isn’t sure how he ended up in this situation, and honestly, he would really like a way out.

ELLEN (Melissa Villaseñor)

Ellen is a large, intimidating bear who often seems grumpy and is always looking for her next meal. She believes in eating whenever she gets the chance. But behind her tough and scary appearance, Ellen cares deeply about her community and is very loyal to her friends.

BIRD KING (Isiah Whitlock Jr.)

Bird King has a terrible temper and a restless, careless attitude. He isn’t afraid to HONK loudly and interrupt whenever he wants to share his opinion. Like most geese, he’s nervous, paranoid, and very loud. He also enjoys looking down on the other Council members—both in attitude and from above as he flies away.

AMPHIBIAN KING (Steve Purcell)

Amphibian King is as cold and slimy as his skin. He’s a frog who doesn’t speak much, and when he does, he slowly croaks out ideas that the other Council members usually ignore. He may seem heartless, but he’s more clueless than truly evil.

FISH QUEEN (Ego Nwodim)

Fish Queen is a loud, strict, and powerful member of the Council. As the ruler of the fish kingdom, she always has a long speech ready. However, she loves adding drama and often makes everyone wait while she pauses to go underwater before continuing.

REPTILE QUEENS (Nichole Sakura)

The Reptile Queens are a frightening trio of nearly identical snake sisters who are always ready to strike. They love gossiping, mocking others, and trying to end Council meetings early because they find them boring and pointless. They also enjoy making fun of other animals for having legs.

INSECT QUEEN (Meryl Streep)

The Insect Queen is the most respected and feared member of the powerful Council. She rules her subjects—and her spoiled, dangerous son—with strict control and authorial royalty. Despite her small size, she carries herself with the pride and presence of a true monarch. Her subjects are the most numerous on Earth, but they are also constantly preyed upon by others. This has made her tough, bitter, and wise. She understands power better than anyone and has no false beliefs about how harsh and unfair the world can be.

GRANDMA TANAKA (Karen Huie)

Grandma Tanaka has always been a calm, caring, and steady presence in Mabel’s life. She understands her granddaughter in ways others don’t. From a young age, she teaches Mabel how important it is to protect the beauty and innocence of nature. As a member of the Beaverton Wildlife Society, Grandma Tanaka believes that caring for those around you is the best way to make a real difference.

DIANE (Vanessa Bayer)

Diane the shark is a powerful apex predator chosen by the Council to help stop Mayor Jerry. She is known as one of the animal world’s most feared assassins. However, despite her dangerous reputation, Diane is surprisingly kind, calm, and polite. She handles everything with complete professionalism, and nothing seems to shake her—even when she’s in unfamiliar situations.
