Meeting of PM Modi and French President Macron, emphasis on the need to reduce tension in West Asia…
New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday spoke with French President Emmanuel Macron on the rising tensions in West Asia. Both leaders stressed the need to reduce tensions to end the growing conflict and establish peace in the region and appealed for a return to dialogue and diplomacy.
Let us tell you, while posting on X, Prime Minister Modi said that he discussed the situation in West Asia with his “dear friend” President Macron and resolved to maintain close coordination between the two countries to resolve it. “We will continue our commitment to promote peace and stability,” Modi said.
Earlier, PM Modi also spoke with Sultan Haitham bin Tariq Al Said of Oman, in which the two leaders discussed the changing situation in West Asia and stressed the need to give priority to dialogue and diplomacy.
The Prime Minister condemned India’s violation of Oman’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and appreciated India’s efforts in cooperation with Oman for the safe return of Indian nationals.
The comments come as tensions and conflicts continue to rise in West Asia, particularly following the assassination of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, which occurred on February 28. After this, Iran retaliated by targeting the assets of many Gulf countries and Israel, which affected the global energy supply and economic stability.
