Rainy conditions have persisted in Delhi and surrounding areas due to active monsoon for the past few days. According to the Meteorological Department, the skies will remain cloudy and light to moderate showers will continue in the coming days. Due to northward movement of Monsoon trough especially during July 26 to 28, there is a possibility of a major increase in the intensity and extent of rainfall, due to which the system and citizens have been alerted.
Sky will be generally cloudy over Delhi-NCR today. Light rain may occur in many areas between morning and afternoon. There is a possibility of light rain at many places during the night as well. According to the weather forecast, both the intensity and area of rainfall may increase between July 26 and 28.
Delhi-NCR has been affected by rain for the past few days. Monsoon is continuously active. The sky will be generally cloudy on Thursday. According to India Meteorological Department (IMD), light rain may occur at many places between morning and afternoon.
Light rain is likely in many areas tonight as well. The maximum temperature in Delhi can range from 32°C to 34°C and the minimum temperature can range from 23°C to 25°C. Let it be known that 12 mm of rain has been recorded at Safdarjung Meteorological Center and 18.7 mm at Palam Airport on Wednesday. According to weather forecasting agency Skymet Weather, most weather stations in the city have recorded light to moderate rain. Also, rain is likely to continue in the coming days. Delhi-NCR may receive light to moderate rain almost every day this week.
Monsoon trough will start moving northwards from July 26 and may reach north of Delhi by July 28. Meanwhile, moderate to heavy rain may also be seen in some areas.
According to the weather forecast, both the intensity and area of rainfall may increase between July 26 and 28. After that, from July 29, the rain activity is expected to decrease. The effect of rain can also be seen in some other states of the country. Punjab’s border city of Amritsar has recorded the heaviest rainfall of this monsoon season. Amritsar has received a total of 307 mm of rain between July 1 and 22 this year.
