Men should not make this mistake even after crossing 40! Start these 5 things from today, you will remain fit even in old age

Health Desk. Aging is a natural process, but after 40 years, many changes begin in the body which can impact health, energy and efficiency. In such a situation, if some important changes are made in lifestyle in time, then one can remain healthy and active for a long time.

1. Do regular exercise daily

After 40 years, just walking is not enough. Exercises like brisk walking, light running, cycling or swimming should be done for 30 to 45 minutes at least five days a week. Along with this, doing light strength training two to three days a week keeps the muscles strong and the health of the bones also remains better.

2. Increase protein and nutritious diet

With increasing age, the body needs more balanced nutrition than before. Include pulses, milk, curd, cheese, eggs, fish, soya, green vegetables and seasonal fruits in your diet. Reduce excess fried, sweet and processed foods. Drinking enough water is equally important.

3. Get regular health checkups done

Many serious diseases develop without any obvious symptoms in the early stages. Therefore, after 40 years, blood pressure, blood sugar, cholesterol, liver and kidney should be checked at least once a year. According to the doctor’s advice, it is beneficial to get other necessary tests done from time to time.

4. Good sleep and stress control

Due to increasing work pressure and responsibilities, stress can also increase at this age. Try to get 7 to 8 hours of good sleep every day. Taking out time for yoga, meditation, pranayam and activities of your choice helps in maintaining better mental health.

5. Stay away from smoking and alcohol

If you smoke or consume excessive alcohol, try to quit or reduce it. These habits can have a negative impact on the heart, lungs and liver. By adopting a healthy lifestyle, the risk of many serious diseases can be reduced to a great extent.
