Menorrhagia is not normal

Menorrhagia: Women face many problems during periods. Some women experience excessive bleeding during periods. This abnormal condition is called menorrhagia. In menorrhagia, there is pain in the stomach all the time. If you are also suffering from this pain then do not ignore it and consult a doctor in time.

Even today, women worry about their health last. Women seem to be succeeding in fulfilling the responsibilities of home and work, but they still seem to be failing towards their body and health. Even minor to major diseases can be treated at home with the help of friends, relatives or Google. But this cheap treatment sometimes takes the form of a very serious disease. Good health of women is seen to be linked to periods, having regular periods is a sign of good health but due to today’s changing lifestyle, pollution, tension and lack of nutritious diet, women are facing many types of period problems. One of these is abnormal bleeding, which in medical language is called abnormal uterine bleeding. Bleeding occurs irregularly. Many women ignore it considering it to be weakness or some other problem.
Any healthy woman normally gets her periods in 21 to 35 days, but if it is less than 21 days and more than 35 days, then you need to consult a doctor. According to a survey, 62 percent of Indian women do not consider heavy bleeding as a disease. Abnormal uterine bleeding usually involves excessive bleeding, but apart from this, large blood clots are also seen during bleeding. Periods last only for four days, but in menorrhagia or uterine bleeding, the periods last more than seven days.
During periods, 30-40 ml of blood comes out of a woman’s body, while in excessive bleeding, 80 ml or more of blood comes out of the body.
Frequent periods for 1 to 2 months with scanty bleeding, accompanied by dizziness and fainting due to weakness. Along with unbearable severe pain in the waist and stomach, the heart rate also increases. Due to lack of blood the skin turns pale. Those who suffer from this problem become irritable by nature and face a lot of difficulty in doing daily work. This problem usually occurs more in women or teenagers aged 30-45 years.

Why does this problem occur?

The main reason for excessive bleeding is the imbalance of hormones. This problem occurs when the amount of progesterone and estrogen hormones in the body of women is low or high.
1. Every month a layer is formed in the uterus of women which comes out of the body through bleeding during periods. When hormone levels deteriorate, this layer becomes very thick due to which heavy bleeding starts.
2. During pregnancy, when the fertilized egg starts growing outside the uterus, it is called ectopic pregnancy. Many types of problems arise in this type of pregnancy, one of which is heavy bleeding. In many cases, it becomes difficult to save the child in the womb.

3. During uterine cancer, a large amount of blood comes out from the body.
4. The problem of menorrhagia is more common in those whose periods have either started recently or who are near menopause.
5. Menorrhagia can also be a side effect of IUDs used for birth control. If this happens, your doctor may give you another option for birth control.
6. Nowadays, the problem of fibroid is being seen in most of the women, which is a type of non-cancerous tumor. In this too, excessive bleeding starts from the uterus.
7. Genetic is also a reason for this.
8. Certain bleeding disorders, such as von Willebrand’s disease, a condition in which blood-clotting is impaired, leading to abnormal bleeding.

There is no need to be afraid of this disease. The doctor examines the patient through some tests and gives appropriate medicines. But if medicines are not successful then doctors treat this disease through surgery.
Myomectomy: Those who have this problem due to fibroids, this surgery is done in which the size, number and place of fibroids in the uterus is seen.
Hysterectomy: In this surgery, the uterus and cervix are permanently removed, due to which periods stop coming.
There is a surgery called D&C, in which the cervix is opened and tissue is scraped from the line of the uterus to reduce bleeding during periods. There is no need to panic about this test.

In any disease, diet is most important to keep oneself healthy. During heavy bleeding, there is a lot of blood loss in the body. Consume spinach, beans, eggs, milk, cheese, meat, fish, soybean, rice, lentils, peas and dry fruits in your diet. Iron is found in abundance in these foods. Apart from food, drink plenty of water to keep the body hydrated. Eat one meal every day cooked in an iron vessel so that abundant amount of iron can enter the body.

Take special care of cleaning your genitals during periods. Use panty liners during periods to maintain hygiene. Wear clean cotton panties.
When women take responsibility for their own health, they will definitely remain healthy. Don’t put the responsibility of taking care of yourself on anyone. Always keep in mind this line of American philosopher, Ralph Waldo Emerson, ‘The first wealth is health’, which means in Hindi – ‘The first wealth is health.
It happens.’
