Big attack on Meta by former female executive, accused of suppressing the book Careless People
Careless People Book And Meta Lawsuit: Meta is once again embroiled in legal disputes. Let us tell you that this time the questions on the company have not been raised by any rival but by its former senior officer Sarah Wynne-Williams. Regarding this, the Associated Press report states that the former executive has filed a lawsuit in the Federal Court of California alleging that Meta is using legal pressure and financial penalties to hide its shortcomings and insider truths. Regarding this, he claims that the company is trying to suppress his famous book Careless People and stop him from speaking publicly.
What are the big claims in Careless People?
Talking about the book, Sarah Wynne-Williams worked as Global Policy Director at Facebook from 2011 to 2017. After leaving the job, he wrote a book called Careless People in which the environment inside the company and the alleged behavior of top executives was mentioned. In this book, questions have been raised on the behavior of many senior executives including Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg. Apart from this, it has also been claimed that several efforts were allegedly made to increase the company’s business interests in China.
Claim of fine of 50 thousand dollars for speaking out
It has been alleged in the lawsuit that after the book was published, Meta imposed strict arbitration orders on Sarah citing a non-disparagement agreement. Under this, if she says anything publicly against the company or promotes a book, then every time she may have to pay a fine of 50,000 US dollars, which is approximately 41.7 lakh Indian rupees. It has also been claimed in the petition that for the last one year, Meta representatives keep an eye on his public programs and try to record whether he has given any statement against the company.

What is the demand from the court and the answer of Meta?
Sarah Wynne-Williams has asked the court to lift the arbitration order and cancel the severance agreement signed when she left the job. He says that this agreement was made under mental and professional pressure. He also alleged that by taking such steps Meta wants to create an atmosphere of fear among its existing employees also.
But after these allegations came to light, Meta has completely rejected them. Regarding which the company says that the former employee is taking the help of legal process only to increase the sales of her book. Meta informed that an independent arbitrator has already determined that he has violated the agreement he signed and that many of the claims made in the book are far from the truth, defamatory and completely false.
