Meta had laid off 8000 people in America some time ago. After this, 26 former employees filed a case in the court against Meta Company. These employees have alleged that the people who were fired were selected by Artificial Intelligence software. Employees claim that the company had identified sick employees through AI, on the basis of which 8000 people were fired from their jobs. Along with this, the employees told the court that the AI ​​software had selected those people who were disabled or on medical leave. However, Meta company spokesperson has completely denied these allegations.

 

People from 6 different states of America filed a lawsuit against Meta in the court. 26 people filed the lawsuit in California court, where they alleged that the company targeted vulnerable employees and fired them, in violation of the state’s labor laws. A hearing was held in the court on the basis of these allegations. Due to these allegations the company has come under the scanner.

What are the allegations of the employees?

The fired people made serious allegations against the company in the California court. According to the employees, the company had used an AI software for the layoffs. This AI software did not select people on the basis of their work, but selected those who were on sick leave due to some disease, were pregnant or were disabled. That is, AI considered these circumstances as the weakness of the people and selected such employees for layoff. Former employees argued before the court that if an employee is on leave or is disabled, how can this become a reason for firing him?
