New Delhi: The Mexican army has achieved a major success, which is being discussed worldwide. The army has eliminated the country’s most powerful drug lord. The Mexican army launched a major operation on Sunday and killed Nemesio Ruben Oseguera Cervantes, El Mencho, leader of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel.
Mexico has lost a major power. The Jalisco New Generation Cartel, known as the CJNG, was one of Mexico’s most powerful and fastest-growing criminal organizations. It was formed in 2009. El Mancho’s death has now created chaos in Mexico.
A statement from the Mexican Defense Department said that El Mancho was injured during an operation to capture him in Tapalpa, Jalisco, on Sunday. He later died while being transported to Mexico City. The state of Jalisco was the cartel’s base and was known for smuggling large quantities of fentanyl and other drugs into the United States.

Videos circulating on social media show a plume of smoke rising above the tourist town of Puerto Vallarta in Jalisco. Panicked by the flames, people were seen fleeing the state capital’s airport.

The US Embassy shared important information on social media. In a social media post, it stated that the operation was carried out by Mexican Special Forces as part of a collaboration between the two countries. US officials provided intelligence support to the Mexican military.
The US had offered a bounty of up to $15 million for El Mancho’s capture. This move by Mexico is now being seen as an attempt by the country’s government to appease Donald Trump.
