MG Comet and ZS EV priced too
MG Comet has been included in the BaaS program, after which its ex-showroom price has now become Rs 4.99 lakh. Its battery will be charged at Rs 2.5 per km. At the same time, the starting ex-showroom price of MG ZS EV has become Rs 13.99 lakh. You will have to pay Rs 4.5 per kilometer for its battery. If you buy MG Comet under the BaaS program, its price will be Rs 2 lakh less, while the price of ZS EV will be Rs 4.99 lakh less. However, the company has not announced prices based on any other car variant except the battery.
You can also buy a car without a BaaS program.
MG said that both the Comet and the ZS EV are not available for purchase as a whole as before, meaning, if you don't want to pay any rent for its battery, you will have to buy it at the old price. So, you will have to pay Rs 6.99 lakh for the Comet and Rs 18.98 lakh for the ZS EV.
What is a BaaS program?
The BaaS program offered by MG is a scheme to offer battery rental, but it is a finance scheme backed by four special third-party financiers. For this, people will have to make a prepayment through a loan. At the same time, people will have to pay separately for the battery on rent basis. Recently, MG has roped in four financiers named Bajaj Finance Limited, Herofin Corp, Vidyut Services Private Limited and Ecofy and Autovert Technologies Private Limited.
