The Fortuner is known for its strong resale value and off-road capability, but the MG Majestor’s twin-turbo diesel engine and the Jetour T2’s plug-in hybrid technology are poised to bring a powerful and modern revolution to the roads. MG Majestor
MG Motors is officially launching its most rugged 7-seater SUV, the MG Majestor, on April 20, 2026. Bookings have already begun, and customer deliveries will begin in May 2026. This SUV is a strong choice, especially for those who prefer the powerful power of a diesel engine. The lineup will be available in four powerful variants, including powerful 6- and 7-seater options.
The Majestic is powered by a 2.0-liter twin-turbocharged diesel engine paired with an 8-speed torque converter automatic transmission. This setup produces a robust 215 bhp and a strong 478 Nm of torque. For enhanced road grip, it features ‘M-Hub’ terrain management software and an on-demand four-wheel drive (4WD) system. Expected to be priced between ₹40 lakh and ₹45 lakh, this car has the potential to strongly attract Fortuner customers.
Jetour T2
Chery International’s Jetour T2 could prove to be a game-changer in the Indian market. Launched by September 2026, this SUV features plug-in hybrid (PHEV) technology. It combines a 1.5-liter turbocharged petrol engine with two powerful electric motors and a robust 26.7 kWh battery. This setup produces a robust 381 bhp and a robust 610 Nm of torque, making it ready for any challenge.
The Jetour T2’s strongest point is its 139 km pure electric range. If you use a strong mix of petrol and electricity, the vehicle can cover a whopping 1,000 km. Its 3-speed dedicated hybrid transmission promises to deliver even stronger performance than a conventional eCVT. A strong price of ₹3.8 million to ₹4 million (approximately ₹38-40 lakh) makes it a formidable rival.
