The ex-showroom price of the MG Windsor EV is around Rs 14 lakh to Rs 18.50 lakh. But in the BaaS (Battery as a Service) model, the starting price of the Windsor Excite variant is Rs 9.99 lakh, and the battery charge is Rs 3.9 per km. On the other hand, the BaaS price of Maruti e Vitara starts at Rs 10.99 lakh and the battery charge is Rs 3.99 per km. Let’s find out which electric car is more convenient for a middle class family.
How much difference in battery and range?
The MG Windsor EV comes with two battery options. The 38 kWh battery gets a range of up to 332 km, while the 52.9 kWh battery gets a range of up to 449 km. Its power is around 136 bhp. The Maruti e Vitara gets a range of 440 km with the 49 kWh battery and 543 km with the 61 kWh LFP battery. Its power is between 142 and 172 bhp. So in terms of range and power, the e Vitara seems to be in the lead. For long-distance commuters, the e Vitara could be a better option.

Who is ahead in charging time?
The MG Windsor EV takes about 9.5 hours to fully charge via a 7.4 kW AC charger. With a 60 kW DC fast charger, it charges from 0 to 80 percent in about 50 minutes.
Maruti e Vitara also supports fast charging and takes around 45 minutes to charge from 10 to 80 percent. Both cars are capable of home charging as well as public charging stations. Both the SUVs are almost identical in terms of charging.
Features and Security
The MG Windsor EV offers a spacious cabin, large infotainment screen and a comfortable design for the family. The MPV-style offers more space.
Maruti e Vitara offers digital cockpit, wireless charging, ADAS level 2 and modern design. In terms of safety, it has received a 5-star Bharat NCAP rating. The e Vitara is a step ahead in terms of safety and technology thanks to advanced driver assist features.
Which car is suitable for the middle class?
If a lower price and more cabin space is desired, the MG Windsor EV is a good choice. But if you want more range, more power and better safety features, the Maruti e Vitara might be more ‘value for money’.
