MG’s new Hector will arrive on December 15, features will be such that it will compete with Harrier

Desk: 2026 MG Hector is going to be launched with a new exterior, in which newly designed front and rear bumpers give this SUV an even sharper and more powerful look. The newly styled grille makes its look even more attractive, while the new alloy wheels, which are expected to be 19-inch, will further add to this update. Despite these changes, MG has retained the signature look of the Hector, retaining its familiar LED DRL and headlamp setup. There are no changes to the sheet metal and silhouette, which underlines that the facelift has focused on cosmetic upgrades rather than changes.

Along with its exterior updates, the 2026 MG Hector facelift will also be equipped with luxurious interior and technical upgrades. Ventilated seating is expected for both front and rear passengers, which will increase cabin comfort. This SUV is likely to include connected car features, interfaces and ADAS functions for better safety. All these updates are meant to strengthen the premium positioning of Hector while meeting the growing demands of buyers in the mid-size SUV category.

The facelifted MG Hector is expected to retain the same engine and transmission options as the existing model, with the 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine producing 141 hp and 250 Nm of torque, while the 2.0-litre turbo-diesel engine producing 167 hp and 350 Nm of torque. The design of the bumper-integrated headlights and full-width LED taillights of the 2026 MG Hector will be taken from the 2025 model, while new dual-tone alloy wheels may also come with this facelift. Apart from this, some new exterior color options can also be found in it.

The updated MG Hector will be launched on December 15, 2025, but its official launch date has not been announced yet. This refreshed mid-size SUV will be available for sale in approximately January 2026. MG Hector (and Hector Plus) will compete with cars like Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Tata Harrier, Toyota Urban Cruiser, Mahindra XUV700, Hyundai Alcazar and Tata Safari.
