MHADA Mumbai: MHADA will build 65 storey high buildings in ‘Ya’ area of ​​Mumbai

The project will be implemented in phases and is likely to take approximately 7 years to complete.

Yes, the Kamathipura redevelopment project which has been stalled for many years has finally moved forward and MHADA has given the approval letter to the developers. After receiving the final approval from the Housing Department, the project will now gain real momentum. Spread over an area of ​​about 34 acres, Kamathipura currently has 943 old and dilapidated buildings. These buildings have a total of 6,625 houses and 1,276 commercial units. About 8,001 residents and 800 landowners live in this area. The plan to relocate all of them to new houses with safe, modern and convenient facilities will be implemented through this project. As many as 60 to 65 storey high buildings will be constructed under this redevelopment scheme. After rehabilitation, the eligible families will be given houses of around 500 square feet area.

Bhagirathi Housing Private Limited and Kamathi Developers jointly floated the tender for the project. He has been selected and is now entrusted with the entire responsibility of the project. Developers have to deposit the bank guarantee amount within 45 days after receiving the acceptance letter. After that the actual work will be started after signing the agreement with MHADA. The project will first complete the rehabilitation phase. Only then construction of houses for sale will be allowed. MHADA will get about 8.25% of the project proceeds from the sale. In addition, the project will create approximately 900 to 1000 new houses, which will be made available to the general public through lottery.
