Middle East Conflict: Iran expressed no confidence in America, questions raised on the security of Indian ships
Middle East Conflict: Amidst the ongoing tension in the Middle East, Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has claimed that progress can be made on a possible peace agreement between America and Iran in the next 24 hours. According to him, if the talks move in a positive direction then both the countries can finalize the agreement through digital medium, after which further talks will be held at the technical level.
Tehran does not trust America
However, Iran has adopted a cautious stance on this issue. Gholam-Hossein Mohsani-Ezei, a member of the interim leadership council and the country’s chief judicial official, said Tehran did not trust the United States. He said that past experiences have created a lack of trust between the two countries.
Iran caused harm to its opponents
Mohsani-Ezei also said that during the recent conflict, Iran has inflicted losses on its adversaries and succeeded in affecting their military capabilities. It is noteworthy that he is playing an important role in the interim council formed after the change in the supreme leadership in February.
Don’t draw hasty conclusions
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi also indicated that talks between the two countries have gone further than before. He appealed to the media and analysts not to draw hasty conclusions about the terms of any potential agreement.
Meanwhile, Tehran has denied reports claiming that the agreement is set to be signed in Geneva on June 14. Iranian officials say the negotiation process is not yet complete and a final decision is pending.
Attacks on ships of Indian sailors
On the other hand, India has again contacted the US diplomat to register its concern over alleged threats against ships carrying Indian sailors. On this issue, New Delhi has sought clear information on security related aspects.
Security decisions under their control
The US President claimed that an attempt was made to target Indian ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz, which was foiled. At the same time, Iranian military officials say that they closely monitor the activities in this strategic sea route and security related decisions are under their control.
