Middle East Conflict: More than 250 flights canceled at four airports
Airlines canceled flights amid the escalating dispute between the US, Israel and Iran, disrupting flight operations for the fourth day.
Officials said 80 flights were canceled at Delhi airport, while 107 services were canceled at Mumbai airport.
In Bangalore, at least 42 flights were canceled for the day.
In a post on X, Chennai Airport said that 30 flights have been cancelled.
These numbers include outgoing and incoming flights.
Since the Middle East crisis began on February 28, Indian airlines have canceled 1,117 international flights in the last three days. “In view of the changing geopolitical situation in the Middle East, some westbound international flights may be delayed or may undergo operational changes,” Delhi airport operator DIAL said in a post on Twitter.
Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was killed in US and Israeli attacks on Iran that began on February 28. In return, Iran is firing drones and missiles at Israel and US military bases around the Gulf.
