New Delhi, 22 March. The G-7 group of developed countries on Sunday strongly condemned Iran’s attacks on civilians and critical infrastructure in several countries in the Middle East and expressed strong support for regional allies facing these attacks.
The foreign ministers of Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Britain and the US and the EU’s top diplomat expressed solidarity with countries affected by the escalating tensions in a joint statement. The statement said the G-7 supports its allies in the region in the face of unjustified attacks by Iran and its allies.
“In line with Security Council resolutions, we strongly condemn the brutal attacks on civilians, energy plants and civilian infrastructure in Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Jordan and Iraq,” the organization said. “Iran’s actions not only endanger these countries but also pose a broader threat to regional and global security.”
The organization has urged Tehran to immediately stop its military activities and said that these attacks are a threat to regional and global security. All such attacks must be stopped immediately and unconditionally.
The G-7 also stressed the importance of ensuring the security of sea lanes and global supply chains, including the Strait of Hormuz. Said that we are ready to take necessary measures to ensure global supply of energy.
