Jaishankar, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and Petroleum Minister Hardeep Singh Puri were present along with representatives of various political parties.

Strong criticism of Pakistan’s mediation

During the meeting, a question was asked about Pakistan’s intervention to stop US-Iran tensions. At this time, Jaishankar took a tough stand, explaining his position in the words that India is not a broker country and showed a basket of dirt to Pakistan’s interference. He said that Pakistan has been trying to play such a role since 1981, there is nothing new about it.

Assurance of power and fuel security

Apart from this, the opposition expressed concern over fuel shortage and rising oil prices in the meeting. On this, the central government assured that India’s energy security is completely secure. The country has ample reserves of oil and gas. Bookings have been made for this. The government is also closely monitoring the supply chain in the Strait of Hormuz. The government clarified that four ships will reach Indian ports in the next few days.
