Midnight coup in Jharkhand: Louis Marandi among 6 BJP leaders join JMM

Ranchi: In a huge setback for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Jharkhand, around half a dozen of its leaders joined the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) at midnight. Among those who joined the JMM included Louis Marandi, whom the BJP was looking to field against CM Hemant Soren in the upcoming Assembly Election.

Apart from Louis Marandi, other leaders who joined the party included Saraikela Ganesh Mahali, a former candidate from Bahargora Kunal Shadangi, Basco Behera, Bari Murmu, and Laxman Tudu are prominent. There are reports that former MLA Sarath Chunna Singh also joining the party. He is reportedly upset over not getting the ticket.
