Mikel Arteta ‘Doesn’t Trust’ Raheem Sterling – Former Player’s Bold Claim

Jermaine Pennant, former Arsenal player, revealed that the team’s coach Mikel Arteta lacks trust in Raheem Sterling. He has been out of action due to a knee injury, as his loan deal also nears an end in the next few months.

Recently, it was revealed that the Arsenal’s coach Mikel Arteta does not trust Raheem Sterling, and it was said by former Arsenal player, Jermaine Pennant. He said that the lack of time given to Raheem Sterling to play for the team has reduced the faith of the manager.

Currently, Arsenal is performing well in the Premier League, as the team holds 3rd spot in the standings, behind Liverpool and Chelsea. They are also looking forward to ending their Premier League drought, which has been going on since 2004. Unfortunately, the team is also going through some serious challenges in its attacking options.

Bukayo Saka recently got injured and is expected to miss out the next few weeks of action. Gabriel Martinelli was able to put up a great performance for the team in its previous win against Crystal Palace. On the other hand, Raheem Sterling who is on a loan deal with Chelsea, has also been out of action due to the knee injury.

Talking about Raheem Sterling and Mikel Arteta’s trust relation in the team, Pennant said,“It’s clear to me that Mikel Arteta doesn’t trust Raheem Sterling. Against Everton, they needed some spark to open the door, and he was left on the bench. He’s getting overlooked for younger talent. There is a great player in there, of course, but he isn’t getting any younger.”
