Miley Cyrus takes center stage in a hilarious encounter recalled by Halsey during a chaotic house party story.
Speaking on the May 26 episode of the Friends Keep Secrets podcast, the 31-year-old American singer recalled how police once disrupted a house party, with the Hannah Montana star’s departure making it especially memorable.
“The police come… and I’m drunk. They’re like, ‘We want to talk to the owner of the house.’ I’m like, ‘Well, I guess that’s me cause I just bought the house.’ So I go outside to talk to the police and they’re like, ‘We got to shut this down.’ I’m like, ‘No, you don’t,'” Halsey reminisced.
She further shared that officers claimed she was “breaking the law,” leading her to ask what law they believed she was breaking.
The Grammy-nominated artist continued, “I don’t know what happened to me. I switched on. I was like, ‘We’re operating within the legal sound limit. We’re not exceeding fire code. There’s no cars parked on the street. And I haven’t exceeded the amount of people that I can have in the premises.'”
“I was like, ‘So what law am I breaking?’ And they were like, ‘The law of common sense.’ I was like, ‘That’s not a real law. See you later, officers,'” she said, recalling the exchange.
However, the most unforgettable moment of the night came while Halsey was dealing with police, when Miley quietly snuck out the door with a bag of takeout.
“Miley Cyrus is running out the door. She had a bag of Postmates in her hand. She’s like, ‘Got to go, girl. Got to go.’ Running away,” the Without Me hitmaker quipped.
