By the year 2030, digital economy will contribute to the national income, so many people will get employment.
New Delhi : Many questions are being raised regarding the rapid expansion of digital economy in India in the last few years. Many times this sector is said to be a swallower of jobs. Recently, many such reports have come at the global level, which have shown that due to Artificial Intelligence, many jobs in the banking sector may be lost.
However, the latest reports from the IT Ministry of the Government of India are telling a different story. According to this report, by the year 2020, the share of digital economy in India's national income can come from agriculture and manufacturing sectors. Not only this, it is also being said that one-fifth of the national income will be from the earnings from the digital economy.
Digital economy will grow twice as fast
According to this report of the Ministry of Electronics and IT, by the year 2029-30, the speed of India's digital economy can be twice as fast as the overall economy. The Estimation and Measurement of India's Digital Economy report, released on January 22, assesses for the first time the value addition and employment generation potential of the digital economy. For some days, the maximum growth is going to be due to the development of the economy through digital platforms. After this, due to the digitalization of the rest of the economy, a large part of the output can be included in this development story. Gradually, the share of information and communication technology based on digital technology may reduce in the digital economy.

Digital economy is providing this much percentage of employment.
According to this report of the IT Ministry, the share of digital economy in India's national income in 2022-23 was 11.74 percent, which can be 13.42 percent by the end of 2024-25. Similarly, in the financial year 2022-23 itself, the digital economy of the country has become worth Rs 31 lakh 64 thousand crores. In terms of employment, this sector alone contributes 2.5 percent. This figure is expected to increase even more in the coming days. At present a total of 1 crore 46 lakh people are getting employment from this sector. However, agriculture sector can generate 45.8 percent employment and manufacturing sector can generate 11.4 percent employment.
