Minorities get representation in Bangladesh cabinet, Hindu and Buddhist leaders become ministers

A big change has been seen in the politics of Bangladesh (Hindu Buddhist Ministers Bangladesh). Tariq Rehman after victory in general elections Prime Minister Took oath of office and formed the new cabinet. Minority communities have been given representation by including one Hindu and one Buddhist leader in this cabinet.

Nitai Roy Chowdhury from the Hindu community and Dipen Dewan Chakma from the Buddhist community took oath as ministers in the new government. Both the leaders are associated with Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP).

Minority faces win in elections

Four minority candidates emerged victorious in the recent parliamentary elections – two Hindus and two Buddhists. Hindu leaders include Gayeshwar Chandra Roy and Nitai Roy Chowdhury, while Buddhist leaders include Sachin Pru and Dipen Dewan Chakma (Hindu Buddhist Ministers Bangladesh). Of these, Nitai Roy Choudhary and Deepen Diwan Chakma have got a place in the cabinet.

Changes in oath ceremony

President Mohammad Shahabuddin administered the oath at the South Plaza of Jatiya Sangsad instead of the traditional Banga Bhavan. This event is being considered symbolic from political point of view.

Analysts say that this step of the new government gives the message of inclusive politics (Hindu Buddhist Ministers Bangladesh) and shows its intention to take the diverse communities of the country together.
