According to The Starthis offer was made public through a social media post where the actress disclosed a dubious proposal from an individual claiming to be an entertainment industry representative. The man initially approached Mak with what appeared to be a job offer, which he later clarified as a “dinner date” when pressed for details.

The phrase “dinner date” is commonly used in the industry to refer to escort-like services, where female celebrities engage with influential men in exchange for money or career opportunities, as reported by the Malaysian news outlet Hype.

Mak responded by sharing a screenshot of the conversation on her social media, captioning it: “Such activities are not part of an actress’ job. Dialling 218 followed by five zeroes might address your query.”

This caption referred to the hotline number for KFC Hong Kong.

Many of Mak’s followers reacted by encouraging her to block the sender to avoid further unsolicited offers.

This incident is among several where TVB stars have been targeted with similar propositions. Malaysian-born actress Jacquelin Ch’ng and actress-model Sisley Choi have also received offers, with Ch’ng being offered HK$12 million and Choi HK$2 million for similar “dinner” engagements.
