Missing for almost two days, the American pilot was rescued by conducting a breathless operation in Iran
Iran shot down a US F-15E fighter jet on Friday. The fighter pilot was missing since then. After 24 hours he was rescued by the US Army. This is what US President Donald Trump has claimed. He said that he was rescued after the ‘enemy’ entered the territory of Iran by carrying out a breathless operation.
On Sunday, Trump wrote on the social media site Truth Social, ‘In the past few hours, the US military has conducted one of the most adventurous rescue operations in American history. One of our outstanding officers, who is also a colonel, was missing. But now we have rescued him. He is protected. But slightly injured.’ He said, “The Pentagon kept the pilot under observation day and night. Plans were underway to rescue him. Finally, several warplanes were sent to Iran to rescue him.”
Trump added, “This operation was not easy. There were dangers at every turn. But we overcame all dangers. We achieved overwhelming dominance and superiority in the skies of Iran. We suffered no casualties in this operation.” On the other hand, in an interview given to Al Jazeera on Sunday, a US official said, “The missing pilot kept his life alive by throwing dust in the eyes of the Iranian authorities for almost two days. But he was found on Saturday night. We rescued him.” However, Tehran has not yet opened its mouth on this matter.
Note that on Friday, Iran shot down two American warplanes, F-15E and A-10. This pilot went missing in that incident. The two ‘Black Hawk’ helicopters that entered there in search of him were also attacked. However, US helicopters eventually left the area. Multiple reports have since claimed the missing pilot is in war-torn Iran. Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps also started searching for him. But in the end America rescued that pilot.
