Mithun Chakraborty received Dadasaheb Phalke Award

New Delhi. Dancing superstar Mithun Chakraborty has been honored with cinema's most prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Lifetime Achievement Award. The 70th National Film Awards ceremony was held on Tuesday at Vigyan Bhawan in Delhi. President Draupadi Murmu honored Mithun da with this award. Mithun Chakraborty expressed his gratitude after being honored with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award. He said, “I have already won the National Award thrice. The first time I received the award, success went to my head. Black color has suffered a lot of insults. I used to cry before God.

Then I thought of dancing, so that people could not see my complexion but could see my dancing feet…and that is how I became a sexy Bengali babu. After receiving this award today, I stopped complaining.” Mithun Chakraborty was born on 16 June 1950. Mithun was born in a Bengali Hindu family in Kolkata. He completed his graduation from FTII, Pune. Mithun Chakraborty started his acting career with the film 'Mrigaya' directed by Mrinal Sen. Mithun's acting and dance became quite popular in the film 'Disco Dancer'. With this film, Mithun came to be known as 'Disco Dancer'. Along with the acting field, Mithun has also maintained his dominance in the political field. At present he is active in Bharatiya Janata Party. Mithun Chakraborty has also received Padma Bhushan and Padmashree awards. Also this is his fourth National Award.
