MNREGA amount will increase according to rain, Agriculture Minister Deepika Pandey Singh gave instructions to officials

 

Ranchi. Necessary plan will be formed to increase the wage rate year wise under MNREGA. In this regard, a review meeting was organized in the auditorium located on the first floor of the FFP building under the chairmanship of Rural Development Minister Deepika Pandey Singh. The Minister directed the officials to work towards achieving the targets in the current financial year also, similar to the employment generation and completion of schemes done in the last financial year 2023-24 under the MNREGA scheme.

Instructions regarding MNREGA schemes

The Minister said that clear guidelines should be issued from the department level for the approval of Mitti-Moram path under MNREGA scheme, so that transportation facilities can be provided in all villages, towns and hamlets. A guide should be issued for selection of plants under Birsa Green Village Scheme. Provision of drinking water and medicines should be ensured as per rules in the schemes running under MNREGA.

The government is in the process of setting the minimum wage rate for MNREGA workers at ₹350. For this, a plan will be formed to increase the wage rate year-wise. Leveling work under Veer Shaheed Poto Ho Sports Ground has been done under MNREGA scheme, but there is no provision of toilets and changing rooms in these grounds. For this, a mapping will be done and construction work will be started.

Requirement of SOP on amount of material item

The Minister said that the amount of the material item is being transferred to the accounts of the vendors, but complaints are being received against the vendors at the regional level. Therefore, SOP should be prepared to transfer the amount of material items directly to the accounts of the beneficiaries.

Establishment of “Didi Bagiya” and nursery

The Minister directed to increase the number of “Didi Bagiya” and plan to establish a big nursery at the state level. He asked to quickly appoint the vacant posts against the sanctioned posts under the MNREGA scheme and distribute the appointment letters in the month of January. Also, ordered to provide the facility of nutrition garden in all Anganwadi centres.

Review of Abua Housing Scheme

Explanation will be sought from the officials delaying the release of the third installment amount to the beneficiaries under Abua Awas Yojana. The Minister directed to complete the under construction houses on priority basis.

Skill Development and Self Help Groups

Instructions were given to run a special campaign to increase the number of self-help groups in the state. Expressing displeasure over the delay in the World Bank-supported Johar Scheme, the minister ordered immediate action. Asked to prepare an action plan for setting up skill development centers at the state and district level.

Emphasis on water harvesting and solar energy

Emphasizing the need for water harvesting, the minister said that the schemes will be inspected in the coming month. Instructions were given to take necessary steps to provide solar energy powered irrigation plants to maximum farmers.

This meeting was organized with the aim of ensuring effective implementation of development schemes and accelerating the rural development of the state.
