MobLand Season 3 Casting Update Is Great News Following Tom Hardy Drama

MobLand Season 3 receives a casting update and some great news for fans. This update came after Tom Hardy‘s reported clash with the series’ showrunner.

What is the MobLand Season 3 update?

Tom Hardy will officially reprise his role as Harry Da Souza in MobLand Season 3, which is great news for fans of the leading trio in the series.

About a month ago, Hardy clashed with writer, executive producer, and showrunner Jez Butterworth. This happened after some behind-the-scenes issues, including “chronic lateness on Hardy’s part,” as reported by Deadline.

The friction between the two had escalated during the production of Season 2, and it reached a point where they could not work together. This even resulted in reports of Hardy being fired from the show, which received a strong response from one of his co-stars.

However, amid this drama, a recent meeting took place between the two in London, along with David Glasser, another executive producer of the series. The three came to a peaceful conclusion and understanding about the future of the show. It is reported that Guy Ritchie, who is an executive producer of the show, was also involved in patching things up between the two.

This meeting resulted in Hardy upholding his three-year contract and returning to the show full-time. Season 3 has not been officially renewed, although a writers’ room was reportedly assembled ahead of Season 2’s premiere.

MobLand is a Paramount+ series that follows a turf war between two mob families, the Harrigans and the Stevensons, in London’s underworld. The new season will center around the lead characters Harry, Maeve, and Conrad, played by Hardy, Helen Mirren, and Pierce Brosnan, respectively. Ronan Bennett, Butterworth, Glasser, and Ritchie also serve as executive producers. Other cast members include Paddy Considine, Joanne Froggatt, Lara Pulver, Anson Boon, Mandeep Dhillon, Jasmine Jobson, Janet McTeer, Jordi Molia, Toby Jones, Geoff Bell, Daniel Betts, Lisa Dwan, and Emily Barber.
