Bhopal. The case of suspicious death of former Miss Pune, model and Telugu film actress Twisha Sharma is continuously gaining momentum. Taking major action in the high-profile case, the police and administration have increased the reward amount announced on the main accused and the absconding husband of the deceased, advocate Samarth Singh, from Rs 10 thousand to Rs 30 thousand. At the same time, Twisha’s mother-in-law and retired District Judge of Madhya Pradesh Giribala Singh has been removed from the post of Chairman of ‘Bhopal District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission-2’ with immediate effect.

Big action by government, appointment will also be investigated-
According to administrative sources, the Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Department of Madhya Pradesh Government has taken this strict action against Giribala Singh. Along with removing him from the post, the department has also ordered a high-level inquiry into the process of his appointment in the Consumer Commission.

It is noteworthy that Giribala Singh had retired from the post of Chief Justice of the District Court in February 2023, after which he was made the Chairman of the Consumer Commission. Considering the seriousness of the matter and the increasing controversy, the government took this decision after administrative review.

Samarth Singh reached High Court to avoid arrest-
The main accused Samarth Singh is still out of police custody. To avoid arrest, he has filed an anticipatory bail petition in the Jabalpur bench of Madhya Pradesh High Court, which is likely to be heard on Friday. Earlier, Bhopal District Court had rejected his anticipatory bail plea.

Six teams of police and SIT are continuously raiding in search of the absconding accused. The police have also issued a lookout notice against him.

Suspicious death was found after five months of marriage-
Twisha Sharma, 33, resident of Noida, Uttar Pradesh, was married to Bhopal lawyer Samarth Singh in December 2025. Just five months after the marriage, on the night of 12th May, Twisha’s body was found hanging under suspicious circumstances at her in-laws house in Katara Hills.

The deceased’s brother, who is a Major in the Indian Army, and other family members have leveled serious allegations of dowry demand, mental torture and physical harassment against her husband Samarth Singh and mother-in-law Giribala Singh. Police have registered a case of dowry death under sections of the Indian Justice Code (BNS).

Now demand for CBI investigation raised-
In this case, the victim’s side has raised questions on the investigation and has also intensified the demand for a CBI investigation. The family’s lawyer has prepared to file a separate petition in the High Court challenging the interim bail granted to Giribala Singh by the lower court and getting a CBI investigation into the entire case.

Twisha Sharma death case is no longer just a suspected suicide but has become a big topic of discussion in political and administrative circles.
