From huge surge in sugarcane prices to mega plan on semiconductor, Modi cabinet took many big decisions
Modi Cabinet Decisions: In the cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, such decisions have been taken, the impact of which will be visible not only on one sector but on the entire economic structure. The government has taken many big decisions from agriculture to hi-tech manufacturing and marine infrastructure. These decisions clearly indicate that India’s growth strategy in the coming times will be based on multi-sector approach.
Let us tell you that Modi Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, Cabinet Committee on Financial Affairs (CCEA) has increased the Fair and Remunerative Price of sugarcane for the 2026-27 season. The government has now fixed the rate at Rs 365 per quintal. This rate is based on 10.25 percent recovery.
Good news for farmers
Let us tell you that if the recovery increases, then farmers will get Rs 3.56 more for every 0.1 percent. The big thing is that even if the recovery is less than 9.5 percent, farmers will get a price of Rs 338.3 per quintal. This decision will impact approximately 5 crore farmers and their families.

Mission for Cotton Productivity Scheme approved
Modi government has approved the Mission for Cotton Productivity scheme worth Rs 5659 crore. This scheme will be implemented from 2026-27 to 2030-31 and the aim of this scheme is to prepare better seeds, improve farming techniques and increase the quality of cotton. Modi government said that along with this, ginning and processing units will be modernized. The Government of India is preparing to give recognition to Indian cotton in the global market through the Kasturi Cotton Bharat brand. The government aims to increase the production to 498 lakh bales by 2031 and increase the yield to 755 kg per hectare.
Big decision regarding semiconductor
Modi government has approved two new semiconductor units with an investment of more than Rs 3900 crore to make the country self-reliant in technology. This decision will further strengthen electronics manufacturing. It will also reduce dependence on imports. Apart from this, new opportunities for high skill jobs will also be created.

Ship repair hub will be built in Gujarat
Let us tell you that it has been decided to build a modern ship repair facility in Vadinar, Gujarat at a cost of Rs 1570 crore. This project will be built by Deendayal Port Authority and Cochin Shipyard Limited. Facilities like 650 meter long jetty, floating dry dock and workshop will be built here. With the help of this hub, repairs to large ships up to 300 meters can now be done in the country.
