Modi Cabinet: Under the leadership of PM Modi, a new era of governance started with ‘Seva Teerth’, the cabinet resolved to serve the countrymen.
New Delhi. The Union Cabinet, in its first meeting in the new Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) complex, resolved that every decision taken in Seva Teerth will be inspired by the spirit of service towards the 140 crore countrymen and will be linked to the broader goal of nation-building. In the meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, it was also resolved that constitutional values are an expression of the moral commitment that links governance with the dignity, equality and justice of the citizen.
This spirit will be implicit in the work culture of Seva Teerth, where every policy will be in accordance with the basic spirit of the Constitution and every decision will be responsive to the aspirations of the countrymen. This meeting and this building is a clear expression of the reconstruction of a new India.
According to a statement, “With this launch, we welcome a future that took centuries to build.” After independence, for so many decades in the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) South Block, governments handled the legacy and dreamed of the future.
Symbol of reconstruction of new India
The Union Cabinet said that ‘Seva Teerth’ is a direct expression of the reconstruction of the new India. After independence, after decades of South Block-run governance, this complex embodies the concept of an India with indigenous thinking, modern form and infinite potential. Referring to the history of this place, the Cabinet said that ‘Seva Teerth’ has been built on the site of temporary barracks which were built during the British era.
The construction of a modern center of national governance at this site was considered a symbol of the rejuvenation of the new India. It says, “We dreamed of an India whose thinking was indigenous, whose form was modern, and whose potential was infinite. Today this Sevatirtha is the embodiment of that concept which will enhance India’s pride as the mother of democracy.
