This is not the first time that the Central Government has been demanded to increase the amount of assistance given to farmers under the PM Kisan Nidhi Yojana. For the last several years, representatives of farmers have also placed this demand before the Finance Minister in the meeting held before the budget. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is scheduled to present the budget for 2025-26 on February 1. After the recommendation received from the parliamentary committee, there are speculations that the PM may announce in the budget to increase the limit of the amount given under Kisan Samman Nidhi.
Farmers got so much money under Kisan Yojana
Even before the Lok Sabha elections in the year 2024, it was expected that the amount of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana would be increased but it could not happen. Under this scheme, small and medium farmers are given Rs 6000 annually in 3 installments. Under PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, money is sent to the bank accounts of farmers through direct transfer. So far, Rs 3.45 lakh crore has been deposited in the bank accounts of farmers in 18 installments.
