Firing amid Kabaddi tournament, organizer shot on pretext of selfie, dies
Mohali News: A sensational incident has come to light from Sohna area of Mohali district of Punjab. There was sudden firing during the ongoing Kabaddi tournament in the field of Sector-82. This incident created chaos in the entire area.
According to the information received, during the Kabaddi match, the attackers riding in a Bolero car reached the ground and started firing. A Kabaddi player and the tournament organizer were seriously injured due to the bullet. Both were immediately taken to the hospital, where doctors declared the organizer dead. Treatment of the injured player is going on.
What is the identity of the deceased?
The deceased has been identified as Balraj Rana alias Rana Ballachor. He was a Kabaddi promoter and used to participate in tournaments with his team at different places. It is being told that they got married only a few weeks ago.

How did the incident happen?
According to eyewitnesses, the person who fired the shot had first approached Balraj Rana to take a selfie. As soon as he stepped back after taking the selfie, he suddenly took out his pistol and fired at Balraj Rana. After this, there was a stampede in the ground and people started running here and there.

Police checking CCTV
As soon as the information was received, the police reached the spot and started investigation. Forensic team has also been called. Police are scanning the footage of CCTV cameras installed nearby. Initial investigation has revealed that old enmity may be behind the incident. However, official confirmation is still awaited from the police.
