Aamir said in a Pakistani show, “He is a slugger, that’s how I see him. A player who can’t judge the line and can’t defend the ball properly, can I call him a proper batsman? He comes in and swings hard and it connects well for him right now.”

Aamir said, “But the day he (Abhishek) learns to handle the tough lines and defend properly, I will change my opinion. You are playing on small grounds and flat wickets; you have not been really tested yet.”
Aamir further said, “Let him do the tour of South Africa, New Zealand and England, where the ball moves, that will be the real test. If he (Abhishek) is successful there, then I would be the first to call him a proper batsman.”
Meanwhile, during the same discussion, Ahmed Shehzad said that he rates Abhishek very highly, and added that Aamir is probably giving his views from a bowler’s perspective.
