Mohammad Amir Predicts Team India Will Miss T20 World Cup 2026 Semi-Finals

The former Pakistan fast bowler Mohammad Amir who recently labeled Indian opener Abhishek Sharma as a ‘slogger’ has delivered his second surprising statement to his audience. After the Super 8 groups were completed, Amir had to select two teams from each group which he believed would reach the last 4 stage of the T20 World Cup. Amir stated that India would not reach the semi-finals while he selected South Africa and the West Indies as advancing teams which surprised both the host and the audience.

Social media has dedicated extensive time to discussing Amir’s statements which he made during the last week. After starting an argument about Abhishek Sharma Amirs current match prediction about Indias T20 World Cup exit has led to him being criticized.

Amir explained his choice to support South Africa and West Indies from Indias group by stating that “Except for the Pakistan match, the Indian batting line-up collapsed in every game. The South African and West Indian teams currently possess the ability to defeat any opponent whom they face.

The same group as India includes Zimbabwe. The semi-finals would only admit the two best teams from the tournament.

The statement which Mohammad Amir made about Abhishek Sharma includes his evaluation that Sharma serves as a slogger because he needs to swing at all pitches which he encounters during games. The day he gets going, it’s fine; otherwise, uske failure ke chances zyaada hain (The chances of his failure are high). The player achieves one score per eight matches which he plays but his other scores equal 10 and 15 and 0 and 20. Amir said on ‘Haarna Mana Hai’ that the player lacks fundamental skills which make up solid technical abilities.

Amir predicted that international cricket would reveal Abhishek’s deficiencies after Abhishek scored three consecutive ducks.

Saim faced the same problem which he had during his first PSL appearance two years ago. The player showed a new batting style which he used to execute no-look shots. The opponent was unaware of his weakness because he hit most of his shots toward the leg side. The bowler at third or fourth stump line now causes him trouble when deciding which ball to hit. The player received two dismissals because he attempted to hit balls outside his offside boundary during his previous two games. The player needs to develop his offside batting skills to achieve progress. According to Amir, strong bowlers will always test your weakness and push you out of your comfort zone.

Abhishek shares the same desire. He needs every ball to land in the slot so he can make his hit. However in major matches and one day internationals players must avoid attempting to hit every delivery. The same method which Salman Agha used to dismiss him worked for Aryan Dutt. International cricket will expose you,” he explained.
