He also said that if Suryakumar Yadav continues to perform well then he can continue the captaincy. But if there is a change in the future then Samson can be a strong choice for this role.

Samson has captaincy experience

Sanju Samson also has a lot of captaincy experience. He captained the Rajasthan team in IPL from 2021 to 2025. Under his leadership, Rajasthan team also reached the final of IPL in the year 2022, although there it had to face defeat against Gujarat Titans. Now Samson is not a part of the Rajasthan Royals team. Chennai Super Kings has included him in their team and he will be seen playing in CSK jersey in IPL 2026.
