Mohammad Shariful Islam Shahzad, accused of attacking film actor Saif Ali Khan, has made many important revelations after his arrest. He told that he had visited Saif's house earlier also, when he worked in a housekeeping company. According to police sources, he had come to Saif Ali Khan's house for cleaning work. In the early hours of 16 January, Shehzad entered Saif's Bandra apartment with the intention of robbing him and attacked Saif with a knife multiple times.

According to the police, on January 16, Shehzad noticed that the security guard was sleeping and then he climbed up to the 11th floor. After reaching here, he entered Saif's flat using the duct shaft and hid in the bathroom adjacent to the children's room.

He was earlier living in Worli. On the day of the incident, he had taken a train to Thane, where a man riding a bike came to pick him up. With the help of the bike number, the police tracked him down in Ghodbunder on January 18 and arrested him. DCP Dixit Gedam of Mumbai Police told in a press conference that a case has been registered against the accused and he has been arrested.

He said, “Mohammed Shariful Islam Shahzad had entered Saif's residence with the intention of robbery. He will be presented in the court. At present, we have no proof that he had visited Saif's house before. He has no criminal record.”

DCP Gedam further said, “We suspect that he is from Bangladesh, hence the FIR has been amended. Based on primary evidence, the accused appears to be a Bangladeshi national and does not hold Indian documents. He had created an identity by the name of Vijay Das.” Police also said that the accused had come to Mumbai 5-6 months ago and was working in a housekeeping agency.
