He said that Shami’s journey of comeback has now started and he can perform even better in the coming times. Shami’s bowling was in the news in the IPL match played between Lucknow Super Giants and Delhi Capitals. Even though the team had to face defeat, Shami made an impact with his sharp bowling in the powerplay.

Shami created history in his very first match by taking a wicket on the very first ball of the tournament. He made a special record in his name by dismissing KL Rahul. Praising Shami’s strategy, Pujara said that he bowled cleverly after understanding Rahul’s weakness. Rahul tried to play a shot on the ball bowled on the wide line, but the ball went straight into the hands of the fielder.
He further said that after this, Shami maintained control on the runs by bowling on a tight line and did not give the batsmen a chance to play freely. According to Pujara, Shami has been performing well in domestic cricket for the last one year and the same rhythm is now visible in the IPL as well. He said that this performance is an indication that both Shami’s form and fitness are in the right direction.
