Mohammed Shami names three fittest players in Team India

Mohammed Shami is working hard on his fitness in order to play for India after the ICC ODI World Cup in 2023. He has been out of action since last year due to his ankle surgery and the veteran was recently seen bowling to Team India’s assistant coach Abhishek Nayar in Bengaluru.

Although there is no confirmation about his selection in the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024, the speedster has declared himself fit.

“My ankle and knee are fine. I am 80-90 percent fit and what else you expect from a fast bowler. My aim is return to the field at the earliest,” Mohammed Shami told India Today.

He was urged to name the fittest Indian player. “Virat Kohli is one of them. We have Shubman Gill and Ravindra Jadeja, who are fit. I am talking about the batters. The bowlers are always strong,” he added.

Shami is not sure about his future with Gujarat Titans in the Indian Premier League but he is ready to lead a franchise if given a chance.

“If the opportunity comes, I am ready to captain any franchise in the Indian Premier League. It is about managing players and you already know many of them.”
