Mohammed Shami will return to the Indian team, will get a chance in the England series, Gambhir's big decision
New Delhi: Fast bowler Mohammed Shami has made a place in the team for the T20 series. He was away from cricket since the ODI World Cup 2023, due to which he suffered an injury, and then he had to undergo ankle surgery in February 2024. Shami played his last T20 match in November 2022, after which he is out of T20 international cricket.

Regarding his possible return in the Champions Trophy, BCCI and Gautam Gambhir want Shami to get a chance to play as many matches as possible so that his fitness can be assessed. After ankle surgery, he was out of cricket for a long time, but is now active in domestic cricket. However, recently there has been slight swelling in his knee, due to which there has been a slight delay in his return to Team India.
Mohammed Shami's international career in T20
Mohammed Shami has played 23 T20 International matches so far, in which he has given runs at an economy rate of 8.94 and taken 24 wickets. Although his performance in T20 cricket has not been very good, his figures in Test and ODI have been very good. Shami became the highest wicket-taker in the 2023 ODI World Cup by taking 24 wickets in 7 matches.
