- Mohammad Siraj’s new record
- History made by Gujarat Titans
- Two wickets in the first over
Indian Premier League 2026 Once again the magic of Mian was seen. Gujarat Titans fast bowler Mohammad Siraj created history in the match against Punjab Kings at the Narendra Modi Stadium on Sunday. Skipper Shubman Gill won the toss and decided to bowl first and Siraj got it right. He took two wickets in his first over and became the first bowler in his team to take two wickets in the first over of an IPL match.
Mohammad Siraj was the first to dismiss Punjab Kings’ dangerous opener Priyansh Arya. The youngster hit a short ball towards deep backward point and debutant Nishant Sindhu leaped to take a stunning low-catch. On the very next ball, Siraj dismissed Cooper Connolly for no runs. Wicket keeper Jos Buttler took the catch. The ball turns late off the back of length and takes a slight inside edge of the bat. Connolly took a review, but UltraEdge confirmed the spike, putting Punjab in further trouble.

of Gujarat Titans The fast bowling trio of Mohammad Siraj, Jason Holder and Kagiso Rabada restricted Punjab Kings to 163/9 on Sunday. Punjab got off to a poor start, with Siraj picking up two wickets in the first over and Holder bowling well to take the team to 47/5 in nine overs. Shedge then put on a crucial 79-run partnership with Marcus Stoinis (40). He scored 26 runs in one over of Manav Suthar to complete his quick half-century. Rabada ended his innings soon after. After this wicket, Punjab’s innings stumbled. Eventually, Punjab crossed the 160-run mark thanks to some big hits from Marco Jansen.
Gujarat won the match on the last ball
A seemingly easy target of 164 runs was made difficult by the Punjab bowlers. Opener Sai Sudarshan scored a half-century, but was dismissed. Washington Sundar stayed on the pitch till the end and won the team. With 11 needed off six balls, Marcus Stoinis’ first delivery was a wide. Arshad Khan hit a boundary on the very next ball, followed by three runs off the next three balls. Sundar hit a six on the fifth ball of the over to seal the victory for the team.
