According to Jaspinder Narula, during that time, the closeness of Boney Kapoor and Sridevi was in the news and meanwhile, Boney Kapoor’s first wife Mona Shourie Kapoor was going through a very difficult phase personally. Singer told that later he became a good friend of Mona Kapoor and he shared the pain of that time with her.
Jaspinder told that Mona Kapoor had told her that when she was recording this song in the studio, her personal life was on the verge of breaking. He had emotionally said that “while the song was being recorded inside, his house was falling apart outside.” During this time she kept crying sitting on the stairs of the studio.
