New Delhi: Singer Monali Thakur, known for hits like Sawar Loon and Zara Zara Touch Me, recently became the subject of alarming health rumours. Reports suggested that she paused her performance at a Bihar concert due to breathlessness and was rushed to the hospital. However, Monali has now shut down these speculations with a clear health update.
Taking to Instagram Stories on Thursday (January 23), the singer addressed the swirling rumours and reassured fans about her condition. She stated, “I am not dealing with any breathing issues and was not admitted to any hospital. That’s false information.”

The Moh Moh's threads singer revealed that she had been recovering from a viral infection and experienced some discomfort due to inadequate rest. “I was feeling unwell recently due to not getting enough time to recover from a viral infection, which caused it to relapse. It led to severe sinus and migraine pain, especially during flights. That’s all there is to it,” she clarified.

Monali also confirmed she is back in Mumbai and is focusing on rest and recovery. “I’ll be absolutely fine in no time. Thank you for your love and support,” she added, requesting fans and media not to blow things out of proportion.
What sparked the rumours?
The rumours began when a report by News18 claimed Monali stopped her performance at the Dinhata festival in Bihar after appearing distressed. According to the report, her team sought medical help and she was allegedly taken to the Dinhata Sub-District Hospital in Cooch Behar.
Monali’s statement directly contradicts these claims, emphasising that while she was unwell, she did not require hospitalisation or face severe breathing problems. In her note, the 39-year-old singer urged everyone to avoid sensationalising the matter, especially when there are “much more important things to focus on.” She thanked fans for their love and reassured them of her recovery.
