Actually, Monalisa is a resident of Maheshwar in Khargone district of Madhya Pradesh and she is from Hindu religion and Farman Khan is from Muslim religion. Both of them met through Facebook. After initially dating, both of them got married in a temple in Kerala at the beginning of this month. Monalisa’s family opposed this marriage. Apart from this, director Sanoj Mishra is also continuously opposing this marriage. Sanoj Mishra has made a film on Monalisa which he refused to release because he married Farman Khan.

Sanoj Mishra had called Monalisa’s marriage a love jihad. For this he received death threats. The process of allegations and counter-allegations is still going on.
