Money rains on Team India after T20 World Cup victory, BCCI will give crores of rupees

Prize money will be distributed among the entire squad

The amount of Rs 131 crore announced by BCCI will be distributed equally among the entire squad of Team India. In this, along with 15 players of the team, the coaching and support staff will also take part. The board has officially shared the information about this reward.

Received separate prize money from ICC also

Apart from BCCI, Team India has also received prize money from International Cricket Council (ICC). ICC has given a prize money of 3 million dollars (about Rs 27.48 crore) to the team for becoming champion, which is different from the reward given by BCCI.

Got more reward than last time

In the year 2024, when Team India won the T20 World Cup under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma, BCCI had given a reward of Rs 125 crore to the team. At that time, the team’s head coach Rahul Dravid was given Rs 5 crore. This time the prize money has been increased by Rs 6 crore, which is considered to be the biggest cash reward in the history of Indian cricket.
