Monsoon Alert: The weather has begun to change once again. February is a significant month for weather changes. These days, some areas are experiencing intense sunshine, while others are experiencing snowfall and drizzle. Continuous snowfall in the upper reaches of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand has led to a drop in temperatures, leaving people shivering.
Cold winds have cooled the weather in the plains. The sun’s heat is expected to increase in the coming days. Meanwhile, a western disturbance in the Himalayan regions could bring thunderstorms and rain, which could cause headaches. Bad weather is expected to persist until February 16th. The Indian Meteorological Department has predicted rain in many areas of the country.
Temperatures Rise and Sunshine
According to the Indian Meteorological Department, temperatures are expected to rise in most areas of the state from February 12th to 16th. Clear skies are expected in all 75 districts in the east and west, including the capital Lucknow. Due to the intense sunshine, the maximum temperature is expected to reach around 30 degrees.
This will make people feel a little warmer. Banda district recorded the hottest temperature in the state at 29.8 degrees Celsius over the past 34 hours, signaling that winter is on its way out.

The sudden heat is expected to subside within a few hours, as two new western disturbances are expected to hit the Himalayan region between February 13th and 16th. Both western disturbances are expected to have the greatest impact on districts like Ghaziabad, Muzaffarnagar, and Saharanpur.

Light to moderate rain is expected in these areas. Furthermore, a possibility of thunderstorms is also predicted. This seasonal change may cause the mercury to drop once again.

The Indian Meteorological Department has predicted thunderstorms and rain in Agra, Aligarh, Ambedkar Nagar, Amethi, Amroha, Auraiya, Ayodhya, Azamgarh, and Baghpat in Uttar Pradesh. Light to moderate rain is also expected in Bahraich, Ballia, Balrampur, Banda, Barabanki, and Bareilly.
Rain Expectations in These States
According to the Meteorological Department, rain and snowfall are expected in Jammu and Kashmir. Rain and snowfall are also expected in some districts of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand on February 16 and 17. Heavy snowfall is expected in some areas of Arunachal Pradesh between February 12 and 14. A rain alert has been issued for Punjab, Haryana, and Chandigarh for February 16 and 17. In view of the possibility of lightning, people have been advised to be cautious.
