Monsoon Alert – Darkness will descend, heavy rain expected in 6 states

Monsoon Update: Snowfall in the mountains and biting cold in the plains have forced people to stay indoors. In many places, visibility is zero due to dense fog, making driving impossible. Thick fog has prevailed since morning. In Delhi-NCR, the increasing cold has led people to huddle around bonfires to keep warm.

The situation is continuously worsening. Due to an active Western Disturbance, light rainfall is expected in some parts of North India. Life has also become difficult for people in the northeastern states. Some parts of South India are experiencing rain. The IMD has predicted rain in several states.

States where rain is expected

According to the Meteorological Department, rain and snowfall are expected due to the Western Disturbance. The IMD has predicted snowfall and rain in the higher reaches of Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, and Leh-Ladakh. The mountains have been shrouded in fog for the past several days.

According to the IMD’s forecast, a heavy rain warning has been issued for various areas of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Puducherry, and Tamil Nadu. People have been advised to stay indoors due to the possibility of lightning and thunderstorms. Dense fog is also expected in most parts of the Northeast.

States where dense fog is expected

The IMD has predicted dense fog in several states of North India. The IMD expects dense fog in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Delhi, Rajasthan, and Haryana. An orange alert has also been issued for these states. Fog is also likely in Punjab, Chandigarh, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Jammu and Kashmir, Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh. Fog warnings have also been issued for Odisha, West Bengal, Maharashtra, and Gujarat.

Weather forecast for Delhi

The Meteorological Department has predicted light winds in Delhi-NCR yesterday. The entire day is expected to remain cold due to the fog. The minimum temperature in Delhi-NCR is expected to be around eight degrees Celsius, while the maximum temperature could reach 17 degrees Celsius. A yellow alert has also been issued for the entire NCR region.
