Monsoon Alert – Heavy Rain & Snowfall Warning in 9 States for Next 48 Hours, Here Full Update
Monsoon Alert: Even after the end of the monsoon season, the rains haven’t stopped. While people are suffering from extreme cold in some areas, alerts have been issued in several states due to expected rainfall. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a heavy rain alert for several states amid the biting cold on December 31st. The India Meteorological Department predicts that due to the influence of a Western Disturbance, heavy rainfall is likely in Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Muzaffarabad between December 31st and January 1st.
Snowfall is also expected in these regions. The IMD has stated that some areas of eastern Uttar Pradesh are likely to experience cold-day to severe cold-day conditions on December 30th, and that Bihar will experience cold-day to severe cold-day conditions from December 30th to 31st. Weather in Rajasthan:
Currently, cold weather is affecting Rajasthan, and the Meteorological department has forecast heavy rainfall in several parts of the state on December 31st. According to the Meteorological department, due to the Western Disturbance, light rain or drizzle is possible in the Bikaner, Jodhpur, and Ajmer divisions, as well as the Shekhawati region, on December 31st. According to the Meteorological department, dense fog is likely to prevail in the northern and western parts of the state from January 1st to 3rd.
Heavy Rain Alert:
The India Meteorological Department predicts that heavy rainfall and snowfall are likely at isolated places in Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Muzaffarabad between December 31st and January 1st. In addition, light to moderate rain and snowfall are possible in isolated areas of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand until January 2nd. Light to moderate rainfall is also expected at isolated places in Punjab, Haryana, and Chandigarh on December 31st and January 1st, and in western Rajasthan on December 31st.
Dense fog, cold wave warning
According to the IMD, dense to very dense fog is very likely to prevail during night and morning hours over Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, and West Uttar Pradesh till January 1st. Dense fog is also expected in isolated pockets over Himachal Pradesh until December 31st, over Uttarakhand until January 4th, and over Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, and West Uttar Pradesh during the night and morning hours from January 1st to 6th.
