Monsoon Alert – Heavy Rain Warning for Several States Over Next 4 Days
Monsoon Alert: Heavy rains continue in the northeastern parts of the country. The IMD has issued an alert for heavy rains in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya and Nagaland till July 2. The Met Department has issued its latest bulletin that Konkan and Goa are expected to experience rain on June 29, July 2 and July 3. Besides, an alert has been issued for rain on 02 and 03 July in Central Maharashtra. A heat wave is also expected in some parts of eastern Uttar Pradesh on June 29 and in Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi during June 29-30.
According to the IMD, the southwest monsoon is expected to reach other parts of the North Arabian Sea, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, the remaining parts of Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, and Bihar, and parts of Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand in the next two days. It is expected to move to Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, mostly Uttarakhand, parts of Himachal Pradesh, southeastern Rajasthan and remaining parts of Gujarat in the next 2-3 days.

Heavy rain in northeast India
According to the IMD, the alert has been issued in view of heavy rains in northeast India and sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim for the next five days. The Met Department has issued an alert in view of heavy rains in some places. The monsoon is active in full force in the northeast. According to the IMD forecast, rains will continue this week.
Meanwhile, the IMD’s latest bulletin said that the monsoon is expected to reach Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Bihar and Uttar Pradesh in the next 2-3 days.

What will the weather be like in Delhi?
According to the Met Department, pre-monsoon activities may increase in Delhi-NCR. Light rain and thunderstorms are also expected in some places. In such a situation, relief from the heat may be obtained with a slight drop in temperature. Meanwhile, light to moderate rains are also expected in Punjab, Haryana, Himachal and Jammu and Kashmir under the influence of Western Disturbances. According to Skymet Weather, the monsoon may enter Delhi around July 4.
Rain in Maharashtra and Gujarat

Rain warning in these states
According to the Met Department, rain is likely at many places in Haryana, Chandigarh and Punjab during July 1-2. A rain warning has been issued for western Uttar Pradesh from June 30 to July 1, and again from July 3 to 4. Besides, rain may continue in eastern Uttar Pradesh on June 29-30 and July. An alert has been issued in view of rainfall in various parts of eastern and western Rajasthan from June 29 to July 4.
According to the Met Department, the rains are expected to continue in Himachal Pradesh till July 4. Heavy rain and thunderstorms are also expected in the hilly districts of Uttarakhand. From 29 June to 5 July, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Gangetic West Bengal, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, and Sikkim are likely to receive rain; an alert has been issued for rain in Jharkhand from 30 June to 4 July. Besides, a rain warning has been issued in Bihar from June 30 to July 1 and in Odisha from June 30 to July 5.
